Dr. Lynch is the owner of Coastal Woods Vision. She grew up in Brethren and is grateful to be serving her home county. Dr. Lynch completed externships at Battle Creek VA, Henry Ford OptimEyes, and the Duane Waters Hospital prior to gaining work experience at medically-oriented ophthalmology clinics and progressive optometry practices. As an optometry student, she was a member of SVOSH and had the privilege of going on a mission trip to Grenada. She looks forward to someday taking her family on a mission trip to provide eye care. She is a longtime member of the MOA and the AOA. Dr. Lynch provides high-quality, comprehensive eye care, ranging from pediatrics to specialty contact lenses. She also practices full-scope optometry with treatment of medical eye conditions such as diabetes, glaucoma, dry eye, and macular degeneration. Dr. Lynch served as a board member for Sandcastle’s Children Museum for several years. She is a member of Women Who Care in Manistee and Mason County. She enjoys spending time outside with her husband, Larry, two children, Reese and Bennett, and dog, Lila.

OPTOMETRIST

Dr. Holly Goodwin is passionate about providing personalized, patient-centered optometric care with a focus on education, trust, and medical excellence. With extensive training in clinical eye care, she is committed to helping each patient understand their eye health so that they feel empowered in their care decisions. She participated in research-based treatment at Atwater Eye Care Center, co-managed complex cases alongside the Mayo Clinic at Gunderson Health System, gained surgical post-operative experience at The Eye Institute of Utah, and honed her emergency and triage skills at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital. Her clinical specialties include dry eye treatment, geriatric vision care, and fitting specialty contact lenses—including scleral lenses and myopia management. When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Goodwin enjoys hiking with her husband, Benjamin and their dogs, spending time on the Manistee River, skiing, and cooking. A lifelong learner and adventurer, she also loves reading and exploring new places. Dr. Goodwin is thrilled to be part of the Manistee community and looks forward to building lasting relationships while helping her patients see clearly and live fully.

FORMER OWNER & RETIRED OPTOMETRIST

Dr. Allen’s interest in Lake Michigan, windsurfing, and the “Up North Lifestyle” led him to Manistee to practice Optometry. As an avid birder he participated in the acquisition of the Audubon House on Lakeshore Drive and local Audubon events. He is a former board member and current volunteer with the GTRCC and they had his help in acquiring beautiful land that will remain in its natural state and be enjoyed by future generations. Dr. Allen’s wife, Maripat, is a published playwright and often found acting on the Ramsdell Theatre stage. Both of his sons graduated from Onekama schools, college and now pursue careers in the non-profit sector and creative arts. Dr. Allen is a leading birder with national standing. He is in high demand for lectures and guiding local birding outings. He enjoys travelling the world and watching his grandsons grow. After 39 years of pursuing his passion for optometry, Dr. Allen fully retired in August 2025 and is now enjoying his time with his grandsons, volunteering, and bird watching.
